The main thing to remember: Do NOT use bullet points because they will put your audience to sleep. You should use as many slides as the points you want to make and limit them to one point per slide. If you want to make 50 points, use 50 slides. Never throw a page of fine prints or 10 bullet points in a single slide. People jam everything onto a singel slide becasue in the odl days you had to actually pay someone to make a 35mm slide and that cost money. Now there is no need because PowerPoint slides are free.

Watching a good PowerPoint presentation should be like watching a documentary with you as the narrator.

My blog gives you many examples of what to do and what not to do. Good luck.

20 reasons and the videos say it all. I love this "stuff". I love it because it fits nicely into all the elements and foundations we aspire to in a contemporary teaching and learning environment. As a teacher in Victoria, the one thing that really reflects our Flagship Strategies and Victorian Essential Learning Standards can be found in blogging. Students engage in mulltimodal context, are involved in design creativity and technologies (from classroom production to digital publication), enter into civic behaviours and global citizenship. Pupils have access to a communicative "force" which takes them beyond four walls. A truly global community engaging dynamically from peer to peer. Pupils learn with technologies they see as second nature... the multimedia web2 context brings it all together and drops it down into the classroom. Oh, there's so much more but... you know... time.
Regards,
Altan ;-)
